Tanzquartier Wien: Application DANCE ON TOUR AUSTRIA (DOTA)

Tanzquartier Wien: Application DANCE ON TOUR AUSTRIA (DOTA)

AUSSCHREIBUNGEN | Einreichfrist: 31.10.2025

+++ Sadly, we have to announce that DOTA funding for 2025 has been cut by the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA) by almost 50%. This decision is very regrettable, as it means that many artists and promoters who rely on this support will receive less funding or none at all. +++

DANCE ON TOUR Austria (DOTA) is a project by Tanzquartier Wien in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs. DANCE ON TOUR Austria offers financial support to contemporary dance and performance artists and companies based in Austria who wish to go on tour with their production. DOTA aims to support and improve conditions for touring productions in Europe. TQW will take on all administrative tasks for the project and act as an intermediary between applicants and the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.

Who is it for?

Only artists and companies based in Austria are eligible for funding. International promoters, as well as artists and companies based in Austria, can submit applications.

Which countries are involved?

Support is available for all European countries.

How to apply for DOTA funding?

The applicant must submit the application form (for artists or promoters) to apply for DOTA funding. In case of a successful application, applicants will need to sign a contract by which they comply with all terms and conditions of the billing and report agreements.

When to apply for funding?

Applications are open now until six weeks before the scheduled tour performance. Since funding will be granted for 2025, guest performances must take place from 1 January to 31 December 2025.

Which expenses can be funded?

In case of a successful application and the availability of sufficient funds, the following expenses can be reimbursed: travel costs, transport costs, accommodation costs, and per diems.

What are the criteria for the selection process?

Three independent jury members will regularly select applications. Jury members are Angela Glechner, Esther Holland-Merten and Astrid Peterle.

When will the results be released?

All successful applicants who receive funding will be contacted directly by TQW
